VGM Club's Dawn Prebula awarded the 2016 California Golf Course Owners Association's (CGCOA) Ted Horton Distinguished Service Award.

Prebula was recognized during the CGCOA Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony held at Summitpointe Golf Club in Milpitas, Calif. The award honors a board member who actively assists in planning events, promoting programs and initiatives, and leads by example to encourage others to lend support to members.

"It's very humbling and is an honor to be the second recipient of this award," said Prebula, VGM Club's senior vice president of development. "Also the person the award is named for, Ted Horton, is a great guy who I have thoroughly enjoyed knowing and working with for many years."

VGM Club has been a sponsor of the CGCOA for approximately 12 years, all of which Dawn has been sharing her knowledge of the hospitality industry. As an active member of the board, Dawn has been lending her expertise in helping with meeting and event planning, presenting at educational conferences and recruiting additional CGCOA sponsors.

"My involvement allows me to network regularly with VGM's current and potential members, supplier partners and sponsors and ensures that VGM's brand remains in the forefront."

DJay Ellis, VGM Club's president & CEO was not surprised that Dawn was the award's recipient. "Dawn's hard work has been evident her entire career here at VGM Club. Her involvement outside of our business has always been an asset to VGM and the golf industry. To see her recognized for that hard work was thrilling not only for me, but everyone here at VGM Club."

Along with serving on the CGCOA board, Dawn is a frequent speaker at industry events and workshops. She is also a member of the Institute for Supply Management and a founding member of the Southern California Foodservice Purchasing Council.
