"Since 2005, Green Start Academy has been renowned for helping assistant superintendents build a strong foundation for their careers," said Ren Wilkes, marketing manager for John Deere Golf. "For the industry to be successful, we need to cultivate the leaders of tomorrow, and John Deere is proud to support this leadership and development program helping assistant superintendents build a strong foundation for their careers." - Via Golfdom

The Green Start Academy helps assistant superintendents build strong foundations for their careers. This 3-day event is focused around the opportunity to network with industry veterans and attend developmental sessions. Key topics include budgeting and labor management among others. Many past attendees have pinpointed the Green Start Academy as the launching pad for their career.

"Attending the inaugural Green Start Academy in 2006 was a defining moment in my professional development. Interacting with and listening to the distinguished panel of contributors was a great opportunity. The ability to network with similar, driven assistant superintendents only provided greater motivation in my daily work... I recommend applying to Green Start Academy to our current assistant superintendents on an annual basis." - David Delsandro, Grounds Superintendent, Oakmont Country Club.

Those interested in applying must submit the required information by June 26, 2017. To view the information needed, visit their page or click on the link below. An advisory panel will select 50 applicants to receive an all-expense paid trip to attend the academy.

"John Deere Golf is the premier golf course equipment program of VGM Club. One of the many reasons we are thrilled to call them a partner is their commitment to further educating young assistants. I strongly encourage those interested to enter." - Mike Woltz, Director of Business Development, Agronomy.
