Product Credit Rebates to Surpass $1M

Posted On: March 16, 2016 by ClubProcure in: Agronomy VGM Club

Currently, just under 1,000 VGM Club members are using our chemical and fertilizer programs. Among those members, $1 million in annual product credit rebates will be divvied out for 2015 purchasing through our fertilizer and chemical programs – that's a seven percent increase from 2014! At VGM Club, we sense this growth is a result of the value and support these programs offer our members.

If you read our State of the Industry piece, you may recognize this quote - "VGM Club members save, on average, almost $2,000.00 a year on course accessories, shop tools, and capital equipment combined when purchasing from Standard Golf, Lowes, and John Deere." –Mike Woltz

That money can go a long way. "Of course, that $2,000.00 doesn't include larger purchases clubs may be making each year" says Mike Woltz of VGM Club's contracting team, "but couple that with the product credit members receive after purchasing from CPS, D&K, Howard, Turfgrass and WinField. Savings can really begin to pile up." "We have savings and rebate programs for every hat a Superintendent may be expected to wear. From agronomist, to mechanic, to manager, all the way to course outfitter. When Superintendents buy products from our chemical and fertilizer companies, their budgets are extended further. This gives them a bit of wiggle room for anything their course might need throughout the year."

Historically, Direct Solutions and CPS were VGM Club's only chemical and fertilizer suppliers. But when Direct Solutions closed their doors last spring, VGM Club headquarters didn't skip a beat. The leadership team put their heads together and methodically filled the holes. Regional suppliers like D&K, Howard, Turfgrass, and WinField immediately stepped in to offer value. "CPS (which covers every state west of the Rockies, plus the northeastern states) has been a large driving force behind the growth we saw this past year. But we found local suppliers were just as essential. Our local suppliers have closed the gap in places we hadn't been able to reach before." To expand on that point, Mike says, "It's also a culmination of our initiative to go one to one, shrink VGM rep territories, and heighten the communication between us and our Superintendents. We feel the growth of these programs is a testament to the value our chemical and fertilizer programs bring to our members."

So how do we continue to grow that $1 million in product credit? "By continuing to build on the relationships we have forged with our Superintendents. Our overarching goal is to find multiple ways to bring value to our members. This goal will continue to be a beacon for us as we grow relationships with suppliers and members to provide excellent value."

**Note VGM Club has recently signed an agreement with ProGro Solutions. ProGro will bolster coverage in the Chicagoland – Wisconsin territory. For more information on this new program, or any of the suppliers we have listed above, visit VGMClub.com or contact your VGM Club rep.
