Simplify Your Supply Chain with Airgas

VGM Club is proud to begin partnering with Airgas, an Air Liquide company, the nation’s leading single-source supplier of gases, welding equipment and more. But you may be asking, “How does Airgas specifically fit into the club industry and benefit my operation?” Great question!

To dig deeper, we interviewed Joe Keller, Craft Applications Specialist at Airgas, to learn about the products they have to offer and to discover their niche in the club industry:

How does Airgas fit into the club industry?

Airgas offers a wide range of products – certified food grade beverage gases for fountain soda, draft beer and wine dispensing, propane for heaters and BBQ grills, acetylene, argon and oxygen for welding applications needed around the golf course, and more. We have an extensive reach, with more than 950 branches nationwide. And our Strategic Account Program provides customers with the benefits of a single point of contact who serves as an ambassador throughout our organization. Additionally, we are able to support the club with our expertise, best practices for using gases and safety information.

What products and advantages do you bring clubs as a whole?

Whether you are a large club serving high volume of craft brew or a smaller club, Airgas can create a program perfectly suited for your evolving needs. We have all the tools in the tool box: micro bulk, high pressure cylinders, nitrogen generators and the largest variety of safety and hard goods. With an extensive distribution network, we’re able to deliver what you need, when you need it.

In addition to our tried and true packaged gas cylinders, we can work with you to evaluate your set up. Some craft brew customers have turned to our nitrogen generators to cut down on waste. Using a generator has many benefits when compared to cylinders:

  • Multiuse applications. A generator can be set up to pour a small N2 mix for beer, straight N2 for wine on tap, a large mix of N2 for your “Guinness Style” beers and straight CO2 for soda guns.
  • Safety. Everyone working at the clubhouse may not have the same level of familiarity with changing cylinders. When evaluating your system, it’s important to keep safety and ease of use top of mind.

Why should a club consider a single‐source company like Airgas? What value do you bring to VGM Club customers?

We can provide clubs with extremely fair pricing along with the knowledge to help our customers gain maximum yield and profitability with minimal loss.

  • Expertise. Our dedicated Craft Applications Specialist is responsible for Airgas’ craft category in the US. Airgas is the first and only company to offer this specialized expertise. Joe Keller, who holds this role, started his career at the Original Portland Brewing Co in 1990 and worked for the brewery for 18 years.
  • Training. Our sales force has been trained in the art of beer making, to add support for our growing roster of craft brew customers.

From your club’s machine shop to your club’s bar, Airgas has products to meet your needs and simplify your supply chain. To learn more about Airgas and their pricing, visit their supplier page here.
